St Nicholas, Little Saxham, Suffolk - 30th September 2005

The tower on St Nicholas' church is said by some to be the finest in Suffolk and perhaps in England.  The lower part is Saxon and the belfry, with its magnificent arcading, is Norman.

Here are two views of the nave, looking east then west.  Just look at that lovely tall thin tower arch and the small alcove above it, probably once a door?  The small, door sized arch to the south of the tower arch may be the stonework from a former north door, relocated here when the north door was blocked.

Here is a view of the pipe organ, with its splendid painted front pipes, and the font.  Notice the carved bench ends.

This window is in the south wall.

Here is the east window containing 19th century glass depicting the four evangelists.

This medieval bell stands on the floor at the west end of the nave, made by the Brayser foundry in Norwich.

Here is a final view  of this church, this time of the east end.
