Sadly this building was locked so external views must suffice.
The church is Norman, set in a secluded spot on the Battle road. It is said that the yew tree in the churchyard is over 1000 years old. The pulpit and lectern in the church were created by a 19th century artisan and were displayed in the Great Exhibition in 1851.

The name is derived from the Saxon meaning "Wheat field settlement".
