The enormous site covered by the former Asylum is now falling into ruin. When the south east of England is so short of housing it is extraordinary that our bureaucratic processes cannot allow redevelopment in a more timely manner. The attractive and solidly constructed buildings are slowly succumbing to vandalism, fire and neglect. Here we have a ready build village, complete with church, which could provide lovely homes for hundreds of people. Ludicrous!

At least some protection has been given to the church windows.
