St Giles, Bodiam, East Sussex - 17th August 2005

This heavily restored 14th century Early English church was locked on the day of our visit (huge padlock on the door!).  No key holder or opening times were indicated which is a major let down for a church near the well known Bodiam Castle.

There is a low embattled tower at the west end and aisles on both sides.  Inside there is a brass (1513) and fragments of others.  The first view is from the south west.

Here is a view from the south east, with the blocked priest's door in the south wall of the chancel clearly visible.

Here is a view of the building from due south.

This final view is of the church, taken through the lych-gate which looks rather odd without any flanking fences.
