I took most of these pictures on 1st July 2000 on an expedition to find my great grandfather's grave. Inside the church, the patron saint is celebrated in a gruesome portrait of Salome carrying John the Baptist's head on a platter.
My great grandparents, together with their parents are buried here, together with several of my grandfather's siblings, many of whom died tragically young.
During May 2003 I revisited the church to inspect the registers, this is also when I photographed the pretty church organ and some views of the nave. I photographed the entire baptism and burial registers held in the church and the transcripts are available on the Sussex OPC site.

Here are two views of the nave, one looking east the other west.

The facing pipes of the pipe organ have been painted in a very attractive manner!

This stone head adorns the wall next to the south door.

This rather gruesome painting hangs in the church showing Salome with John the Baptist's head on a platter, apologies for the glare on this picture from the camera flash.
